The New England Patriots broke their four-game losing streak on Monday night, Nov. 9, as Nick Folk kicked a 51-yard field goal as time expired for a 30-27 comeback victory over the winless New York Jets.

As Patriots' fans, it was not exactly a comfortable victory, as New England trailed at halftime and for most of the second half, but a win is a win — right?

The results of the latest Courier Publications/VillageSoup sports poll show the majority of respondents have faith in head coach/general manager Bill Belichick, as well as the front office staff, to make the correct choices for the team.

Forty percent chose "trust Bill," while 30 percent believe the Patriots should tank — or give up on the season — to receive the highest spot available in the 2021 National Football League draft.

Twenty percent voted to keep Cam Newton at quarterback and let the team win as many games as possible, while the final 10 percent want backup quarterback Jarrett Stidham to play over Newton, to prepare for the future.

Vote in new poll below.

New England sits in third place in the American Football Conference East standings behind the second-place Miami Dolphins and first-place Buffalo Bills. The winless Jets are fourth.

Now, the Courier Publications/VillageSoup sports staff turns its eyes to the Boston Red Sox, as the historic team has hired, or in this case rehired, a manager in Alex Cora on Friday, Nov. 6. The move prompts us to ask: How do you feel about the Red Sox rehiring Cora as manager?

Cora was the manager in 2018 — when Boston brought home a World Series title and set a franchise record for overall victories with 119 — as well as in 2019, when the club missed the playoffs with a 84-78 record.

Cora and Boston agreed to part ways after the 2019 season for Cora's role in the Houston Astros' cheating scandal, in which Cora was suspended from baseball for a year.
