Richard L. Turner, 78, passed away peacefully Nov. 17, 2020, with his wife of 55 years by his side. He was born Feb. 6, 1942, in Freedom, the son of Maurice and Lizzie (Chasse) Turner. He worked as a self-employed woodsman, worked construction, and was a road commissioner and truck driver. Richard loved spending time with his family and enjoyed stock car racing and dancing.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn (Bailey) Turner; three sons, Donald and wife Karen of Brooks, Rodney of Montville, and Steven and Heather of Union; grandchildren Matt, Monica, Tayler, Tiffany, Tennah,Tyler, Ciara, Joanna and Riley; great-grandchildren Ella, Hazel, Lucas, Jacob, Aubrey, Jaxon, Taylor, Abel and Winter; special nephew Bobby; brothers Lester, David, Willis and Eddie; and sisters Geneva, Sharon, Peggy and Shirley.

Richard was predeceased by beloved son Rick; brothers Meldon, Elwin, Winfield and Raoul, and a sister, Regina.

Special thanks to all the doctors and nurses who cared for him at Waldo County General Hospital. Services will be held at a later date. Memories and condolences may be shared at
