Shirley Jackson, 80, passed away Nov. 14, 2020. Shirley was born in Belfast Sept. 21, 1940, to Dana and Ruth (Thompson) Gross.

She worked at The Colonial Theater, Merrill, Fleet and Bangor Savings Bank, and co-managed the Rockland Drive-In with her husband, Earle Jackson, who predeceased her.

The last rose of summer was also predeceased by her parents, her sisters, Beverly Gross Poliquin, Carolyn Gross Brisson, and brother Larry Gross. Shirley taught Sunday School at the Methodist Church in Searsport, donated time in her children’s classrooms, and was involved with The March of Dimes.

Shirley was often outdoors trying to make the world more beautiful with her green fingers and thumbs.

Surviving are her two children, her daughter Ellen, married to Don Wilson, and her son Clifford Earle Jackson II, married to Cheryl; her grandchildren, Larry Wilson, Matthew Jackson, Dana Jackson and Angela (Wilson) Rawls; a great-granddaughter, Myka Jackson; many loving nieces and nephews, Cindy Poliquin Moody, Vickie Poliquin, Michele Jean, Joe Jean, Cathy Brisson, Larry Casavant Gross, Liz McLeod, Kathy Norma and Stephen Clark; along with sister-in-law Patty Jackson, soul sister Carol Hall; and many loving cousins and friends. She will be missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
