Mary Shirley Jackson, 94, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family Dec. 5, 2020, at Sussman House in Rockport. She was born July 10, 1926, in Knox, the daughter of Wilfred and Mary Walker.

Mary was predeceased by Robert Jackson, her husband of 68 years; her parents; and all seven siblings: four sisters, Margaret, Irene, Brenda and Dorothy, and three brothers, Cecil, Nelson and Harold.

She is survived by her sons, John and his wife Cherry, and Dennis and his wife Pamela; her daughter Brenda and her husband, Glen. She leaves seven grandchildren, Heidi, Craig, Tammy, Chad, Kristian, Sasha and Mikhail, and 10 great-grandchildren, Hannah, Zach, Jordan, Makayla, Caleb, Devin, Rowen, Odin, Brody and Atlas. She also leaves many nieces, nephews and cousins, as well as friends.

In her early years living in Belfast, Mary enjoyed taking her children to the city park and watching them swim in the pool, relaxing at her cottage on Pitcher Pond, visiting family to talk and play card games, and going to the fall county fairs. Later she worked at Holmes Greenhouse for many years and loved working with flowers.

She loved growing flowers in her home gardens, watching the birds at her feeder and spending time with family and friends. Family came first for Mary and she was a kind and caring friend and neighbor to all who knew her. She also loved doing puzzles with family during her last year of life. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her and loved her.
