Greetings all. This will be rather short. I'm sure you all are busy (as am I) with cleaning, decorating, baking, meal planning, buying/making gifts and so on. I managed to get five Christmas trees up and decorated. Trying to see if I can get the Dickens' Village displayed or not. And it's just the two of us (plus the menagerie).

Christmas is sure to be quite different this year for most of us. There is a candlelight service on Christmas Eve in the Varney parking lot. It starts at 7 p.m. — tune in on your radio to 94.3 FM. If you live in the village, you may also be able to hear it at home.

Since 2020 is thankfully coming to an end, you may need a new calendar. Brooks Historical Society calendars are now available at the Brooks Town Office and the Marsh River Co Op for $10. The theme for the 2021 calendar is "Schools and Activities through the Ages." Proceeds from sales of the calendar help defray expenses at the Pilley Museum and Menard Barn.

Don't forget that dog licenses are also due.

Have a wonderful holiday. Peace and good health to you.
