SeaHorse Stables of Belfast riders trotted to third places against six teams at the Zone 1 regional event on Sunday, Dec. 13 at Over The Oxer Equestrian Farm.

In the final Interscholastic Equestrian Association show of 2020, SeaHorse Stables' upper school placed third among seven teams and SeaHorse Stables' middle school contingent tied for third with Green Acres Equestrian.

For SeaHorse Stables, Shelby Hooper placed second in the open over fences class and fourth on the flat; Mia Rae, third over fences; Nina Miller, third and fourth in flat classes; and Sylvia Lee, third in flat class.

Additionally, Sage Pound finished fourth in the varsity intermediate over fences class; Heidi Goodwin, fourth in the future Intermediate over fences class; and Addison Turner, second in the future intermediate flat class.

Also, Sam Kinney placed third in the future novice on the flat and over fences class, and was reserve in the future novice over fences class, while Hannah Jones finished fourth in the jayvee novice over fences class and second in the jayvee novice on the flat.

SeaHorse Stables future beginner walk/trot riders Camille-Rose Bandy placed fifth; Jaeden Sanborn, sixth; and Taylar Thomas, third, in their classes.

Amy Miller of SeaHorse Stables said congratulations were in order for Thomas for "achieving high-points rider of the Zone 1 future beginner walk /trot division."

Amy Miller said Hooper, Jones and Pound will graduate this year and "and we will miss them come next IEA season."

Despite dealing with the pandemic and safety protocols necessary to travel and compete, Amy Miller said SeaHorse Stables had "terrific" competition season.
