I finally had my Christmas gift exchange with my cousin Cassie. It had been awhile since I had seen her as she's been busy with her Thomas School of Dance in Bangor and her recent wedding to Erick Whitt. She brought me a large beautiful bowl with some paper whites and grow material; the bulbs have taken off and soon enough I'll have fresh flowers in the house.

Chase Toys recently spent some time with Maine Cabin Masters helping them get to a remote cabin in Readfield via snowmobile. Maine Cabin Masters airs on Monday at 9 p.m. on the DiY channel.

Nick Ferreira recently shared some pictures on Facebook that he took while flying over Unity Pond. There were still large expanses of open water. There was enough ice, though, for Larry King to do some ice fishing from the comfort of his home.

The Open Door has resumed lunches on Thursdays at 11:30 a.m. at the food pantry, drive-thru style.

Had a warm sunny day so I piled a bunch of recyclables into my car and headed to the Unity Area Regional Recycling Center. Hours of operation are Tuesday through Friday, 9 a.m.-4 .pm.; Saturdays, 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
