Hello Monroe!

Though sadly they are no longer New England Patriots, I cannot help but be excited for and happy to see former Patriot quarterback Tom Brady and former tight end Rob Gronkowski celebrating as NFC champions with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, gearing up to face quarterback Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs on Feb. 7 in the Super Bowl. Since I won’t be able to cheer for New England, I’ll cheer for the Bucs!

Worth celebrating

Happy birthday to the following Monroe community members and a few special others with strong ties to our town, all celebrating in the month of February: Tara Grotton (2nd), Lee Prevett (8th), Brooke Trask (11th), Kate Wing (12th), John Gibbs (22nd), and Alyssa Dow (29th).

New food truck

If you’ve never experienced the Belfast United Farmer’s Market of Maine on Saturdays, open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 18 Spring St. in Belfast, March 9 may be the perfect first Saturday to go. Scheduled to debut at the market that day is Chase Stream Farm’s newest food adventure. Tim and Anne, owners and operators of the Monroe-based farm, have “been plotting and planning, and will be launching “Seoul Shack!” Korean Burritos, anyone?” on March 9. Find them at the indoor market and try out their take on Korean street food!
