Cary Furrow, 71, died Jan. 30, 2021, from COVID-19 at St. Joseph's Hospital, Bangor.

Cary was born at home to Coral Gardiner Furrow and Walter Furrow April 13, 1949.

He went to schools in Knox, Brooks and Thorndike and Unity College.

Cary was drafted Jan. 15, 1969. He was a Specialist 5 medical corpsman in the 1st Air Cavalry Division in the Army during the Vietnam War. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Bronze Star Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Bronze Star Medal with Valor and Oak Leaf Cluster Air Medal. In Cary's words, "I saw a lot of blood."

Cary was predeceased by his mom and dad and two brothers, Sydney and Dwight Furrow. Cary is survived by two sisters, Pansy Porter and Lilly-Ann, and two brothers, Royce and Wade Furrow.

Cary was an avid hunter on Frye Mountain and fisherman on Salmond Stream, Knox.
