Hello Monroe!

Our fields are once again criss crossed with snowmobile tracks as Oliver enjoys almost daily afternoon loops as winter trudges on. His rosy cheeks and smile certainly make the cold air more bearable.

Worth celebrating

Congratulations to the following, hard working individuals from Monroe who were named to the fall semester of 2020 UMaine Orono dean’s list: Erik Hamilton, Thurston Illingworth, Olivia Lockhart, Abi Martin, Cori Shooter and Damon Williams.

I’m happy to hear Steve Moody is home and recovering incredibly well from a recent heart procedure. It is great to see Barb back out and about at the Town Hall in Monroe and Brooks Town Office as Steve gets stronger and stronger each day. Keep doing what the doctors tell you to, Steve!

Summer flower share

Bo Dennis of Dandy Ram Farm in Monroe is excited to once again offer sustainably grown bouquets this summer. Sign ups are open for the 2021 Summer Flower Shares! Bo hopes you will join him again this coming season in weekly blooms for 12 weeks, starting in July.

Because of your support in 2020, he is expanding his flower growing. He is excited to bring new crops into the mix like ranunculus, champagne poppies, more dahlias and Easter lilies, as well as extend the season with some covered growing space.

Similar to last year, shares are available on a sliding scale. Paying on the higher end supports flowers for those that want joy and beauty but cannot pay as much at this time. You can pay through the new website, or by check or cash. Let him know if you would like to arrange a payment plan throughout the summer.

Pickups will again be Friday afternoon. No worries if you want to pay closer to the start of the season, but please let him know if you would like to reserve a spot and he will save you one!

Have a great week!
