Hello Monroe!

I fear cabin fever may be setting in a bit early this year. The cold, cold temperatures combined with recent icy conditions haven’t afforded too much entertainment for the now 19-month old child of ours in the great outdoors.

Here’s hoping temperatures rise back into at least the 30s during the daytime, though we certainly won’t complain about a day here and there perhaps in the 40s, to try our hand again at some fishing on nearby local ponds and soften the snow to make playing in the yard a bit less slippery.

Worth celebrating

Happy belated birthday wishes go out to two special Monroe residents. Dan Dolloff celebrated his birthday Feb. 17 and this year, Carly Aitken turned 12 Feb. 18. Happy birthday to you both!

Congratulations to the following Monroe students who made honor roll for the second quarter at Mount View High School!

Earning high honors is Aiden Tripp and earning honors includes Lily Neville, Brooklynn Brown, Sydney Vogel, Nicholas Finley, Karen Moulton and Cooper Grierson.

It makes my heart happy to see so many former students excelling in academics, even during this turbulent time in education. Congratulations also to Monroe’s Lily Neville for being named a Student of the Month at MVHS for the month of January!

Screen printing and more comes to town

Slated to begin taking orders by early March, Swan Lake Avenue in Monroe welcomes Lowe and Basset Screen Printing, the town’s newest screen printing, vinyl cutting and embroidery business!

The crew has been busy moving equipment in and setting up shop, and plans to take orders for custom tshirts, sweatshirts, hats and much more. They will be able to take a logo/design you give them and place it on your desired apparel, or they’re prepared to help make you a custom design in house from your ideas! All designs are customizable and prices will be justifiable.

More information coming soon, but in the meantime, follow them on Facebook under Lowe and Basset Screen Printing.

Have a great week!
