Patricia Ann Johnson, 85, passed away Feb. 27, 2021, at the Maine Veterans' Home in Bangor.

Patricia was born in Portland Dec. 16, 1935, to Lawrence and Ruby (Whitehouse) Norton, who both predeceased her. She was raised on Beals Island and then married life took her to Texas and England before settling in Belfast.

Patricia proudly served in the Marines until she married.

She worked several years as a CNA in the local nursing homes in Belfast. She was an avid antiquer and loved finding information about her Norton genealogy. She loved to crochet, display her doilies and find “Norton'' crocks. She loved her family deeply and the times they would all be together at her home, “The Gathering Place,” on Mayo Street. Most days she could be found sitting on a bench at the waterfront, chatting and watching the boats with an ice cream in her hand. She loved life and was a lot of fun to be around.

Patricia was predeceased by her parents, her sister Eleanor Woodcock, and her former husbands, Dixi P. Jacobs and Lawrence Johnson. Surviving are her children, Dixi P. Jacobs II and his wife, Barbara; Shirley Kelley and her husband, George; and her son, Frank L. Johnson, and his former wife, Pam; her grandchildren, Elizabeth, Eric, Nathan, Catherine and Christopher; her great-grandchildren, Madison, Thomas and Patricia; her sister Mary Lou Look and her husband, Bill; her brother-in-law, Norman Woodcock; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A private celebration of Patricia’s life will take place this summer. Memories and condolences may be shared at ripostafh.com.
