The town of Prospect will be holding its municipal election this year in conjunction with the Regional School Unit 25 school budget vote on Tuesday, June 8.

On the ballot for this year are two open positions: one selectmen position for a three-year term, and the road commissioner position for a one-year term. Nomination papers can be picked up in the Town Office and must be returned no later than Tuesday, April 13.

The town meeting will be held Saturday, June 12, at 9 a.m. in the Town Office parking lot. The method, be it drive-in or outside seating, is to be determined closer to the meeting.

Prospect’s budget meeting will be held Thursday, April 15, at 6 p.m. in the Community Center across from the Fire Station. If you would like to attend, please contact the Town Office.

Some town boards and committees are in need of members to help shape the future of Prospect. These are not elected or paid positions and members must be residents of the town. There are two seats open for three-year terms on the Budget Committee, and two seats open for five-year terms on the Planning Board. If you are interested in any of the above positions, please contact the Town Office.

You will notice in the near future that the few street lights the town currently pays for will be converted to LED bulbs by CMP. This is done at no cost to the town other than the monthly electric usage fee.

Meetings of the Board of Selectmen have been moved to every other Thursday at 5 p.m. in the Town Office. The next meeting will be held April 1. If you have anything you would like to address with the selectmen, please contact the Town Office prior to the meeting. You can always join the meeting via Facebook Live or Zoom and ask questions or make comments.
