Penobscot Marine Museum opens for the 2021 season Saturday, May 29. To start the season, there will be scheduled guided tours available seven days a week through the end of June. In July, the museum will begin with general admission ticketing. The Museum Store and Main Street Gallery, with the new permanent exhibit “Getting Our Bearings,” will be open to the public Mondays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 5 p.m.

The museum offers both a standard tour through June, as well as family field trips throughout the season. The 45-minute standard tour is staff-led and explores the history of Maine through specific stories relating to Searsport and Penobscot Bay. The 60-minute family field trips are staff-led and will conduct a variety of activities that are designed to be a fun way for families to learn about life at sea. Searsport and Stockton Springs residents can receive a voucher for a free family field trip through the Carver Memorial Library. All ages are welcome at either of these tours, and both are $25 per household, up to ten people.
