Community Library

Big day on Saturday, June 5, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for the annual Book, Bake and Plant Sale! So please donate your books, bake something to donate or dig up your perennials, add labels and bring them to the library. Please call 567-4147 or email stocktonstaff@stocktonsprings.lib.me.us for more information.

More moose sightings in town! Please let me know if you see one as I would love to take a photo of it for the paper. Remember my phone number and email information are at the top of this column for any goings-on in town or fun things happening.

Just got the book “The Paris Library” by Janet Skeslien Charles about the American library in Paris during World War II. Looking forward to reading it!

Lots of restaurants and farm stands are beginning to open. Our weather has been lovely and gardens are being planted. My tomatoes have survived despite the early planting and the torrential rainustorm we had on Sunday and the winds that followed, which blew the petals off all the apple trees in my neighborhood.

The joyous season of warm weather is upon us and it’s great to get outdoors again. Just watch out for the blackflies! Hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend!
