Members of Palermo Cub Scouts Pack 222 volunteered at the Palermo Community Library recently to move and spread newly delivered loam in a new garden.

The library’s Summer Book Club is now meeting Tuesdays at 1 p.m. Books for upcoming discussions are “Blindness” by Jose Saramago for June 22, “The Splendid and the Vile” by Eric Larson for July 27, “The House of Trelawney” by Hannah Rothschild for Aug. 24, and “The Orphan of Salt Winds” by Elizabeth Brooks for Sept. 28.
