BELFAST — The Midcoast Maine Reparations Collective announces Jams for Justice, a benefit concert and jam auction, on Thursday, June 24, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Steamboat Landing. All proceeds from the event will go to benefit Racial Equity and Justice (racialequityandjustice.org), a Bangor-based organization committed to racial justice education, mutual aid and advocacy for Black and Brown communities in Maine and elsewhere.
Jams for Justice features performances by the Gawler sisters with Bennett Konesni and Ethan Tischler, Lysander Jaffe of Palaver Strings, The Clemetson Brothers, Sarah Wilcox-Hughes, and an appearance from Racial Equity and Justice representative Mali Obamsawin of Lula Wiles.
To help reach the fundraising goal of $2,000, organizers are asking for a suggested donation of $20 and up, $5 for children.
