ISLESBORO — For the second year in a row, the town held its annual meeting by referendum ballot because of COVID-19 restrictions. All warrant items passed.
The town budget for fiscal year 2022, which begins July 1, is $3,965,309, down $56,809 from the 2021 figure of $4,022,118. The amount to be raised from property taxes increased from $3,073,517 for fiscal year 2021 to $3,326,919 for 2022, a rise of $253,402, or 8.2%.
In the municipal election, Gabe Pendleton was reelected to the Select Board, garnering 168 votes, and write-in candidate Melissa Burns won the seat vacated by Arch Gilles with 13 votes. Winning the two open school committee seats were Julianna Reidy with 105 votes and Colleen Dove, who received 79 votes.
