I finally got a chance to go to the Brooks thrift store. They are open Thursdays and Saturdays, 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.  A great selection of items with very good prices.  It was good to see everyone again.
Everyone has been busy getting ready for the for all of the planned activities at the Community Park in Brooks on Saturday, July 3, beginning at 9 am.  There will be crafters, chicken barbecue, vintage cars, children’s games, food vendors, antiques, Holly the DJ and fireworks.  Come and spend the day at the Brooks Community Park.
Now is the time to get your reusable shopping bags back into your car and be ready when the plastic bag ban goes back into effect on July 1. I have started using mine again. I love carrying in three bags of groceries versus about eight plastic bags of groceries.
Sympathy is being extended to the friends and family of Sandra Tucker. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
We now have an earlier deadline for getting our column in to this paper. I must have your news item by 2 p.m. on Thursday of each week, an email or phone call would be great. I will be waiting to hear from you.
Have a safe and happy Fourth of July.
