The Belfast Rotary Club has awarded $80,000 in scholarships to 13 graduating students who attended Belfast Area High School, Searsport High School, Mount View High School and Waldo County Technical Center. The scholarships range in value from $5,000 to $10,000.

Six students received scholarships recognizing their achievements in leadership. They include Alice Andrews from Belfast Area High School (the $8,000 Duane Scholarship), Joseph Grassi from Mount View High School (the $7,000 Pitman Scholarship) and Ashley Blais from BAHS (the $6,000 Malmberg Leadership Award). Brady Moulton from Mount View, Daniel Snider from BAHS and Sadie Wheeler from BAHS each received a $5,000 Belfast Rotary Club Leadership Scholarship.

Seven students received scholarships recognizing their achievements in service to the community. They include Hezekiah “Kyle” Gabriel Catolos Agbuya from Belfast Area High School (the $10,000 Robert M. Hooper Memorial Scholarship), Amelia Jacobson from BAHS (the $7,000 Marilyn Duane Scholarship), Isaias Therio from Searsport High School (the $6,000 Malmberg Service Award), Samantha Perkins from SHS (the $6,000 Fred Romanow Service Award) and Lydia Bryant from Mount View High School (the $5,000 Hawthorne Service Award Scholarship).

Two students who attended the Waldo County Technical Center each afternoon also received $5,000 Rotary Club Service Scholarships. They are Zachary Bryant of BAHS who received the Lawson Service Scholarship and Macy Fowler of Mount View who was awarded the Rhodes Service Scholarship.

Over almost 40 years, Belfast Rotary Club has awarded a total of $930,000 in scholarships to area students.
