BELFAST — Back in 1979, if you had been at the Searsmont Elementary School parking lot for the fire department chicken barbecue and street dance, you may have heard them. Or maybe over the next few years in many of the clubs from Portland to Sugarloaf to Millinocket to Islesboro and in between, you might have heard them. But if you missed them, don’t fret, you can hear the Searsmont Street Band at Belfast Summer Nights Thursday, July 15, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Steamboat Landing Park.

Come on down; all those old guys will be there, Phil Divinsky, Willy Kelly,  David Lewis, Joe Allard, Jeff Densmore, Ando Anderson and Bob Evans. You won’t regret it unless you get blisters on your feet from dancing your pandemic blues away.

Admission is free with the hat being passed for donations. For a complete series schedule, weather updates and more information, find @BelfastSummerNights on Facebook or call 207-322-7123.
