Greetings. I hope everyone had a great July 4th holiday despite the weather (the parade was canceled). I found it interesting that we just had the warmest Christmas and the coldest Fourth of July on record!
The Brooks Recreation Department would like to express its sincere thanks to everyone who participated in, attended and/or supported the Third of July Field Day. Special thanks to Susan Lindsay, Karen Hudgins and Kris Beirne for their hard work! A special, special thanks to the Ralph’s Cafe softball team! What a great example of community spirit (we lost, but it was fun).

It goes without saying how great it was that the Roberts family was there to help with the chicken barbecue. We cooked 160 dinners and Tom shared that in the height of the Booster Club days years ago, his parents, Joe and Anna Roberts, cooked 2,000. We won’t see that again, but it was a great day despite
the weather. How wonderful to see so many enjoying the Brooks Community Park again. Hopefully, this will become an annual event. Thank you all!
