Hello All,
Another rainy night to get busy and type up the column. My sister Marilyn had a birthday today, she is 10 years younger than myself. We went to town to eat. A little shopping then home. More adventures soon.
Newborn
We have another great-grandbaby in our family. Millicent Jae Rogers-Doughty was born July 7, 2021, she weighed 7 lbs. 6 oz., 20.25 inches long. Her parents are Kaylib Doughty and Rebecca Rogers. Ethan now has a baby sister. Congrats to all!!
Get well
Our prayers and thoughts to feel better to Virgil Thompson as he recently fell. As he stated, his prosthetic foot caught and he fell. Hope he is better very soon.
Open house
Jenn Marie Photography Studio’s Grand Opening is coming up on Sunday, July 18, 3-6 p.m. at 1372 Waterville Road, Waldo. Ice cream social, at her new beautiful space. Chance to win a gift certificate. She is excited to show you.
Sympathy
Sadly, Tara Grotton has passed away. Thinking of her husband Wayne and family at this time. She will be missed by family and friends.
In Florida
Get well to Warren Moody who fell on his 92nd birthday getting into the car. He had surgery on his leg and hopes to be home soon from rehab. Happy birthday to you, Warren!!
Desserts
Yummy desserts are being made at Ralph’s Cafe. Also Dow’s General Store has been posting pics on Facebook, too, of cakes. Mainely Pizza has been baking up a storm, too. Sounds so yummy.
Recent recording
Barry Zell has recorded a song that he wrote with other musicians, “Driving Blind,” and it is coming out soon, he posted to Facebook. He will let us know when it is available to download. Congrats to him.
Fresh veggies
So far I have seen for sale, beet greens, Swiss chard, cukes, onions, carrots, red potatoes, summer and zucchini squash, peas, kale, and tiny tomatoes. I saw some broccoli and cabbage today as well, and hard to believe it could have possibly been grown here now. No strawberries.
Returning
Holy Mackerel Tournament (Front Street Pub) is coming up July 31 and Aug. 1, daily, dawn to 6 p.m. Tickets must be purchased before fishing begins. See John Gibbs. All profits from tournament ticket sales and raffle will benefit “Operation Reboot Outdoors.” There are some very nice raffle prizes, too. Sounds like fun for you Fishermen and women, kids, too. We used to years ago catch mackerel off the bridge in Belfast.
For your info
Sometimes you gotta learn to be quiet even when you got a lot to say. Happiness is not about getting all you want, but enjoying all you have. So true!
More
Be happy, and be kind always. I hope you are enjoying your summer so far. Many are out camping and having fun. The gardens are growing. I noticed the cow corn is coming along fast in places.
Lost cattle
Several heifers escaped Ingraham’s Gold Top Farm here in town. All were finally found by 11 p.m. Friday. They were in the woods somewhere behind the milking barn.
Until next week,
Have a fun and safe week. Load up on fresh veggies if you can. Hello to my guys in Warren.
