AUGUSTA — Warren Scott Doersam, 79, passed away July 8, 2021, at the Maine Veteran’s Home in Augusta. He was born Jan. 20, 1942, in Malden, Mass., the son of Leonhard and Catherine P. (Scott) Doersam.

He graduated from Pinkerton Academy in New Hampshire, class of 1959, and attended classes at the University of New Hampshire and Northern Essex Community College in Haverhill, Mass. On Feb. 25, 1984, he married Joline Seymour in Fremont, N.H. He was employed early in his career in computer operations as a computer technician and later in desktop publishing and as chaplain of Waldo County Jail, and, finally, as founder and director of Maine Prison Ministeries.

Warren was a member of the Maine Wood Turners Association and Vision New England Ministries, and was an elder at Swanville Community Church, deacon at Chestnut Street Baptist Church, and song leader and deacon at Brooks Bible Church. He enjoyed hiking, fishing, nature photography, singing, wood turning, sharing the Gospel, gardening, Bible studies, exploring, museums, antiquing, and was an animal lover and birdwatcher.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Joline (Seymour) Doersam of Augusta; two daughters, Lianna Doersam Forge and husband Robert of Orneville Township, and Corrine Doersam Parseghian and husband Kevin of Newburyport, Mass.; a son, Joel Doersam and wife Lauren of Lawrence, Mass.; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Warren loved and was loved by everyone he met, eagerly engaging strangers and always ready with a warm handshake or hug, a listening ear, and warm smile. He was a wonderful father, husband, counselor and friend to all. He looked forward to being joined with family and loved ones in Heaven.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 17, at 2 p.m. at the Cornerstone Christian Fellowship, 2539 Riverside Drive, Vassalboro, with Pastor Wayne Denny officiating.
