SEARSMONT — On Saturday, July 24, at 4 p.m., Shirt Tail Kin brings heartfelt rock ‘n’ roll, a wash of electric guitar and pedal steel, and a reputation for great, energetic live shows to the Live Outside the Library concert series at Searsmont Town Library, 37 Main St. South.

This band is quickly becoming ubiquitous with the summer of 2021. Featuring original songs crafted and honed live in venues and backyard parties of Downeast Maine, these guys resonate with summer urges, quick wit, and the shared sense of family that their name implies.

Formed in 2017, Shirt Tail Kin is comprised of Curtis Russet (Live Bait, Woodshed Boys, Bare Back Rider) on guitar and vocals, Mike Bennett (The Beatroots, Birdhouse) on drums, Pete Davis (Blue Northerrn, Delco Ray) on pedal steel and guitar, and Ezra Rugg (Catch a Vibe, The Sauternes) on bass. Their music can be heard at shirttailkin.bandcamp.com.

Bring your own chair or blanket. Admission is free, but registration is required; send contact information and number in your party to searsmont.town.library@gmail.com. Concerts will move into the community building if there’s rain.

Funded in part through generous grants from the Onion Foundation, Friends of Searsmont Library, and the Maine Arts Commission, Live Outside the Library aims to fulfill your summer with energetic and inspiring acts out on the lawn! Call 207-342-5549 for more information.
