BUCKSPORT — Evelyn J. Brown, 89, passed away July 19, 2021, with her family by her side.  Evelyn was born in Belfast May 6, 1932, the daughter of Nathan and Mattie Mae (Moody) Miller.

Evelyn worked more than 40 years in the nursing profession starting at Bradbury Nursing Home, then at Tall Pines and ending with Harbor Hill.  She always enjoyed working with the elderly.

Mom, Grammie, Grammie Brown or Auntie Ev were titles she was most proud to hold.  There was not a sporting event or dance recital she would miss so she could watch her grandchildren or attend family reunions with her nieces and nephews.  Family was very important, which is why she requested that all her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren be listed in her obituary.

Mom is survived by her sisters, Katherine Muise of Laconia, N.H., and Dorothy Seekins of Stockton Springs; seven children, Dorothy Malena of Masardis, Wesley Brown Jr. and wife Brenda of Bangor, Wayne Brown of Monroe, Amber Fawson and husband Rodney of Tamworth, N.H., Wilbur Brown of Bangor, Andrea Stewart and husband Peter of Bucksport, and Katherine Brown of Holden; 12 grandchildren, Travis Malena of Bangor, Brian Jefferies and wife Jen of Ohio, Joshua Fawson and wife Samantha of Natick, Mass., Jennifer Doyle and husband Mark of Plaistow, N.H., Spencer Brown and fiancee Amanda Pomeroy of Searsport, Thomas Malena and wife Meagan of Limestone, Erica Brown and husband Matthew of Herman, Jacob Stewart and girlfriend Sara of Southwest Harbor, Matthew Stewart of Bucksport, Seth Brown and wife Jessica of Galveston, Texas, and Brett Brown and Melissa Brown of Bangor; 14 great-grandchildren, Blake, Emily and Bryce Jefferies, Quinn Malena, Kyler, Natalie and Abram Melena, Brinley Brown, Quinlin and Colby Fawson, Cece and Beckett Doyle, Autumn Brown and Adalynn Brown; her very special friend Thelma Eastman of Verona Island, and Amanda, who made her days brighter while at Seaport Village.

In addition to her parents, Evelyn was predeceased by her siblings Roger, Clyde and June; granddaughter Ashley Nichole Brown; and brothers-in-law Robert Muise, Horace Seekins and Cecil Curtis.

Graveside services will be held for immediate family and friends Friday, July 23, at 2 p.m., Pilgrims Home Cemetery, Monroe.

Arrangements are with Mitchell & Tweedie Funeral Home, Bucksport. Memories and condolences may be expressed at mitchelltweedie-young.com.
