Thanks to Max for putting some gravel in my driveway.  It definitely was needed. Also, a big thank you to Raven’s Garage for always getting our vehicles repaired in such a timely manner. You guys are appreciated.

Sympathy is being sent to the family and many friends of Ronnie Lee. He will be missed by many.

Condolences to the family and many friends of Charlie Kent. He was a longtime resident of Benton, a farmer, political figure and much more. It will not be an easy task to fill his shoes.

I see that we have a whole new vocabulary when it comes to addressing town officials.  Old habits die hard, but I will do my best to use proper terms.

On Saturday, July 31, the family of Ronnie Turner is planning a celebration of life with a barbecue at the home of  Donna and Larry Duclos, Mile Road, Thorndike. Follow the signs. Please pass the word along and feel free to call any of the family members if you have any questions.

The family of Patty Banker is planning a celebration of life on Sunday, Aug. 1, 1:30 p.m. at the Thorndike Congregational Church Fellowship Hall. Refreshments will be available.

On Sunday, Aug. 1, beginning at noon, the Dirigo Grange will host a drive-thru chicken barbecue in the New Holland parking lot, formerly Ingraham Equipment, at the intersection of 220 and 137 at Hilltop.  For $10 you get a half-chicken, coleslaw, chips, brownie and a bottle of water. The barbecue is scheduled to go from noon until 2 p.m. or until it is sold out. This is drive-thru only.

Get well wishes go out to Josh Larrabee. He got badly burned and is still in the hospital at this writing.

We have been having some good weather and the gardens and lawns are really growing. I have been enjoying making lots of stir fries with all the fresh vegetables. Dustin says i even put the kitchen sink in the last one. He really likes them.
