A Lincolnville man is in critical condition after a head on crash with a tractor trailer truck on Route 235 just before 6 a.m. July 26.

Matthew Wood, 36 of Lincolnville, had to be extricated from his pick-up truck by the Lincolnville Fire Department after a head on crash on Route 235 with a 2016 Mack 600, with an attached refrigeration trailer, according to the Waldo County Sheriff’s Department.

Wood was transported by Northeast Mobile Health Services to Pen Bay Medical Center and then to Northern Light-EMMC in Bangor where he remains in critical but stable condition.

At 5:42 a.m., the Waldo County Regional Communications Center received a call of a head on crash in Lincolnville on Hope Road (Route 235) between a pick-up truck and a tractor trailer vehicle.

Waldo County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene and found that Wood was traveling south on Route 235 in a 2007 GMC 2500 pick-up truck when it crossed into the path of the tractor trailer truck, which was traveling north.

Bradford Francis, 35 of Winslow, is the operator of the tractor trailer. He was transported by Belfast Rescue to Waldo County General Hospital for examination and was released.
