BELFAST — Swanville artist David Hurley recently installed his mural titled “Make me one with everything” at the Belfast Shaved Ice & Provisions snack shack in Belfast City Park. When Norm Poirier, Belfast Parks and Recreation director, called Hurley asking if he could paint him a four-foot cheeseburger, Hurley asked him if he wanted fries with that. Hurley added ketchup and pickles for more color, as well as a cherry-flavored shaved ice cone.
Rick, the proprietor of Belfast Shaved Ice & Provisions, noted that the mural has already garnered attention, with kids and families getting their pictures taken with the artwork. Hurley loves creating public art and says he looks forward to seeing more art in the parks in Belfast.
