Hello All,

Another week gone by. Rain and more rain at times, but we needed it. Sis and I take rides to relax and go looking for wildlife, mainly deer just to look at them. Of course we get something to eat in our travels, why not. Only live once.

Montville friends

Jan and Bob are at the cabin in the woods in Montville, adding a deck on the cabin, and much-needed work done there. They are spending a few weeks here from Florida. When they left Florida, the heat index was 114 degrees, quite a difference here. They had to have a little heat and a blanket.

Mount View youth soccer

It is in full swing, maybe I should say kicks. And after a two-year break in full kicks. There were 80-plus youngsters that formed four teams, Fire Panthers, The Bolts, Mustangs, and Minions. Then I heard more teams, Stinging StingRays and White Tigers, and maybe more I never heard about. I think it is nice they get to learn ball handling, scrimmaging and more. High schoolers are a big help now with this. They have a site on Facebook to see many pictures also. Have fun, kids!! Then I just read the Mighty Mustangs snagged first place. Congrats to all the kids (in the HS lobby lost and found items, free  balls to a good home, and cleats there, too. From DL Page).

Golfing

News I heard that a pond for supplying water to a golf course had been down 8 ft. with our drought. After all the rains we had was full again, able to keep the course nice and green looking. Happy golfing for sure!!

On Aug. 8, Sunday, 10 a.m.-3 p.m., is Summerfest 2021 at Wiscasset Raceway. Usually best represented at the track are the Unity Legends racers. Also many others from other tracks. A grandson birthday

Happy birthday to David Doughty on Aug. 12!!! We love you, d-train!

Sympathy

Sending much sympathy to the family of Mildred Richardson who passed recently and used to live in South Freedom. Thinking of her family.

Former Webb Road person

A lady that used to live at the Log Cabin, Donell, wife of Frank Froburg, passed away on the morning of July 24 from cancer. She will be missed by those who knew her. They were from Massachusetts. The cabin is across from my Drew’s folks old place. Sympathy to Frank.

Dried flowers, too

Leafsong Family Farm located in Belmont had some very pretty dried flower wreaths. A woman-owned business that has a farm nursery yard with plants and trees. She offers house plants, even lilies to bring home, very pretty. Lots of items in the store, from lotions to gardening tools. You may have seen her at the Common Ground Fair. Check out her business. Plus there will be a fair this year in Unity. Flowers woven into wreaths will be late summer and autumn.

Mount View news

There is still a need for soccer coaches, I believe. Contact Hauns Bassett or DL  Page, or Kim Jameson as she has info to pass along am sure.

Hauns is coaching the MVMS boys.

Veterans

If you are a veteran, please apply for the veterans’ property tax exemption on your property if you have not. It will save you money.

Reminder

On Wednesday, Aug. 4, the benefit supper for Totman family at Liberty Community Center. Direct donations may be sent to Susan Totman at 369 Augusta Road, Belmont 04952. Sue says to talk to her about Bryan; she wants to hear your comments, and stories.

Until next time,

Be happy. Stay kind. Thinking of all. Prayers for those sick.
