Greetings, Brooks.
Hope all are healthy. The resurgence of the Delta variant of the virus is very concerning and it seems that Waldo County isn’t doing too well. Please take care of yourselves — wear your masks and get vaccinated.
Library
Did you know that Brooks has its very own lending library? It’s upstairs in the Town Office and is available whenever the office is open. The adult section is full of a wide selection of popular books. The kid’s section has many picture books, easy readers and young adult selections as well. No library cards, fines or due dates — just sign out your choices. Come enjoy your library!
Rec Department
The Brooks Rec Department is looking for volunteers to help out with several pending events still in the planning stage — a chicken barbecue on Oct. 9 and the annual Trunk or Treat in the Community Park. They are also looking for fundraising ideas for next year’s Fourth of July celebration. The fireworks display costs $3,500 — that’s a lot of bake sales!
Let’s not forget the kickoff to the holiday season and the springtime celebrations. The next meeting will be held on Sept. 12, 6:30 p.m. at the Town Office.
Until next time … peace.
