Mid-August! Time to get in the last licks of summer fun!
Carver Memorial Library
Remember the pizza garden activity that had plantings as wedges in the shape of a pizza? Well now it’s party time to celebrate its success! Tuesday, Aug. 17, at 3 p.m. will be a pizza party with pizza, of course, produce, and lawn games on the grounds of the library. Rain date is Aug. 20.
Also, a heads-up to homeschoolers. There will be a meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 24, at 3 p.m. This is a good time to connect with other homeschooling families and share tips, resources and activities for the next school year.
Searsport Historical Society is back!
The Searsport Historical Society will be having its first meeting since the COVID shutdown on Tuesday, Aug. 17, at 7 p.m. at a new location, the Methodist Church Vestry on Main Street in Searsport. It’s the second Saturday of the month and you know what that means, turkey at the Searsport Methodist Church! Their takeout turkey supper will be held on Saturday, Aug. 14, from 4 to 6 p.m. For a donation of $10 per person, you can have all the fixins’ of a homecooked turkey meal, including homemade pie for dessert!
