WISCASSET — Although it is not something race fans want to hear, especially when the track action has been as hot as a Maine summer day in July, drivers at Wiscasset Speedway near the final weeks of competition as nine weekends on the oval remain.

On Saturday, Aug. 7 Group 2 racing divisions took to the track in an action-packed night.

Ryan Ripley of Thomaston took home the win in the Wood Pellet Warehouse Late Model Sportsman 40-lap event. Will Collins of Waldoboro finished third and Josh St. Clair of Liberty sixth in the race.

The 350 SMAC Super Mods gave fans a thrill in their Patriot 45 45-lap race.

Fans were encouraged to wear pink for “Dress Pink” night at the track as the Coastal Maine Jeep Girls attended and raffled prizes to raise money for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.
