Three area high school golf teams were back in links action on Monday, Aug. 30, as two of those squads secured early-season victories.

Medomak Valley swung to a 6-3 road win over Morse of Bath and Belfast a 7-2 home victory over Nokomis of Newport, while Oceanside came up on the short end of a 9-0 decision to Leavitt of Turner.

Medomak Valley 6, Morse 3

At Bath Aug. 30, the Panthers dismantled the Shipbuilders en route to a victory. Medomak Valley fired a four-golfer, nine-hole stroke total of 246 to 259 for Morse.

The individual results, with Panthers listed first, were: Tyler Metcalf (46) beat Max Owen (56), 2-and-1; Logan Look (62) beat Aidan Shields (77), 4-and-3; Lochlan Murray (59) beat Oscar Nelson (61), 2-and-1; and Aidan Abbotoni lost to Liberty Wyman (72), 5-and-4. Gage Suitter also fired 70 and Rainier Eich 90 for Morse.

Metcalf shot 46 to earn medalist honors for Medomak Valley.

Leavitt 9, Oceanside 0

At Turner Aug. 30, the Hornets stung the Mariners and were strong across the board in a home victory. Nokomis fired a four-golfer, nine-hole stroke total of 159 to 177 for Oceanside.

The individual results, with Mariners listed first, were: Austin Chilles (44) lost to Ruby Haylock (36), 3-and-1; Bryson Mattox (46) lost to Billy Bisconti (43), 2-and-1; Rhys Jones (44) lost to Jade Hayden (40), 3-and-2; Noah McLellan (43) lost to Alexis McCormick (40), 3-and-1; Duncan Oakes-Nelsen (60) lost to Aidan Lind (49), 4-and-2; and Colin Landry (56) lost to A.J. Davis (48), 2-and-1.

Belfast 7, Nokomis 2

At Northport Aug. 30, the Lions roared to their second win in as many matches, this time over the Warriors. Belfast fired a four-golfer, nine-hole stroke total of 191 to 197 for Nokomis.

The individual results, with Belfast players listed first, were: James Ritter (41) beat Alex Grant (50), 3-and-2; K.J. Payson (43) beat Cody Chretien (48), 4-and-3; Hagen Chase (54) lost to Nate Smestad (50), 1-up; Zach Sanderson (54) lost to Jordan Hawthorne (49), 2-and-1; and Bobby Banks beat Amber Scholton (70), 4-up.

Ritter shot 41 to earn medalist honors for Belfast.
