SWANVILLE — Waldo County Extension Association will host its annual meeting this year on Tuesday, Sept. 14, 5-6:30 p.m. Free and open to the public, the meeting will take place at the Maine Coastal Regional Reentry Center Garden Project on Route 141 in Swanville.
The meeting will include a tour and information about the Garden Project, which annually grows and donates thousands of pounds of food to area food pantries, soup kitchens and other nonprofit organizations. The reentry programs at Waldo County Jail offer offenders who are serving the last

months of their sentence a chance to learn interpersonal and employment skills, engage in community service, take personal enrichment classes and work within a transitional model of creating a life post-incarceration.
There will be a short business meeting of the Waldo County Extension Association to follow the tour and an opportunity to learn more about the association’s work. Light refreshments will be served.
