WILMORE, Ky. — Priscilla Clark Terwilleger, a beloved teacher, volunteer and friend to many, died peacefully in her sleep Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2021. Priscilla celebrated her 81st birthday just a week before her death and she and Andy celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary in June.

Born and raised in Belfast, Priscilla graduated from Crosby High School in 1958. After high school, she graduated from Barrington College with a bachelor’s degree and the University of Maine with a master’s and pursued a teaching career. After moving to Lexington, Ky., Priscilla taught hundreds of elementary schoolchildren, including first graders at Garden Springs. Priscilla was an active member and volunteer at Park Church, Delta Kappa Gamma Society and Bluegrass Retired Teachers. Priscilla was known for her Maine accent, beautiful smile, friendly and outgoing nature, and her love for people and learning.

In addition to her husband, Andrew, Priscilla will be deeply missed by her daughter, Michelle; five sisters, Carrie (Ed) Nardiello, Virginia (Richard) Nichols, Cindy (Jim) Shields, Becky (Rich) Surdam, and Cathy (Jeff) Burcham; a brother, Dan Clark; a sister-in-law, Janet (Wes) Kleppe; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Milton and Marie Hills Clark, and a sister, Julia.

Visitation was held at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Lexington, Ky., Sept. 7. The Rev. Ronald Young officiated at the funeral service at Park United Methodist Church, Lexington, Ky., Wednesday, Sept. 8, with burial following with the Rev. F. Martin Gornik officiating at Bluegrass Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations suggested to Park United Methodist Church or to Wesley Village in Wilmore.
