MONTVILLE — Gerald L. Burleigh, age 45, of Peavey Town Road, died unexpectedly Sept. 4, 2021,  in Vassalboro.

He was born Sept. 3, 1976, in Belfast, the son of Gerald E. Burleigh and Marie A. (Melanson) Burleigh.

Gerald loved Lake St. George, where he grew up fishing, swimming and canoeing with his family and friends. Family cookouts were his favorite events to attend. He found refuge and peace helping Pastor Ron and the church. He was always helping someone. Gerald was a much-loved son, father and grandfather, and will be missed by all.

He is survived by his parents of Montville; two sons, Stephen Colby of Fairfield and Kody Burleigh of North Anson; a daughter, Taryn Burleigh of Liberty; a brother, Jason Burleigh of San Francisco; three sisters, Cheryl Garnett of Winslow, Shannon Smallwood of Milford and Sadie Hatch of Hamden; a grandson, Nikolai; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

No visiting hours are planned. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Sept. 18, at 11 a.m. at China Baptist Church, 36 Causeway Road, China Village, with the Rev. Ronald Morrell, pastor, officiating.   There will be food and an outdoor gathering at his parents’ home, 6 Peavey Town Road, Montville, to celebrate his life starting around 1:30 that afternoon for any and all to stop by.

Memorial donations may be made to the church.
