The Belfast and Oceanside field hockey teams were in action in home matches on Tuesday, Sept. 14, as the Lions collected another early-season win.

The Lions hosted Old Town and emerged with a 3-1 victory, while the Mariners came up short in a 4-1 loss against visiting Morse of Bath.

Belfast 3, Old Town 1

At Northport Sept. 14, the Lions swung past the visiting Coyotes. The game was scoreless at halftime before Belfast took a 2-1 lead after three quarters.

Audra Faulkingham caged a goal and added two assists for Belfast, while Kara Richards and Natalie Curry added one goal and Mia Winslow one assist.

Abby Shorette scored for Old Town, off an assist by Madeline Arsenault.

Belfast held a 16-12 edge in shots, while Old Town finished with a 13-10 advantage in penalty corners.

Madison Shorey made 11 saves in the cage for Belfast and Chelsea Cote 12 stops in goal for Old Town.

Morse 4, Oceanside 1

At Rockland Sept. 14, the Shipbuilders bested the host Mariners.

Lily Clifford and Dylan Barr scored two goals to lead the Morse offense, while Colette Black caged the lone goal for Oceanside.

Morse held a 5-4 edge in shots and 6-4 avantage in penalty corners.

Mackenzie Hobbs made four saves in the cage for the Mariners, while Gracie Hawks made two saves in goal for the Shipbuilders.
