Waldo County squads have played high school soccer at a fevered pitch in recent days, with regularly-scheduled and makeup games on the docket.

On Friday, Sept. 17, Islesboro played its first game and collected a 4-0 road win over Pine Tree Academy of Freeport, while the Mount View boys bested Maine Central Institute of Pittsfield 3-1 and Searsport boys lost to Bucksport 8-0.

On Thursday, Sept. 16, the Mustang boys also penned in Lawrence of Fairfield 3-0, while the Viking boys netted a 3-1 win over Penobscot Valley of Howland and Belfast girls dropped a 3-2 decision to Winslow.

Additionally, on Saturday, Sept. 11, the Viking girls were downed 5-0 by George Stevens Academy of Blue Hill.

Boys soccer

Islesboro 4, Pine Tree Academy 0

At Freeport Sept. 17, the Eagles soared past the Breakers and onto victory.

Harper Conover netted two goals for Islesboro, while Sam Jagger (goal), Rio Dubois (goal), Charlie Jagger (2 assists) and Toby Conover (2 assists) also chipped in offensively for the islanders.

Robert Conover made five saves in net for the visitors.

Mount View 3, Maine Central Institute 1

At Pittsfield Sept. 17, the Mustangs remained unbeaten and penned in the host Huskies. MCI led 1-0 at halftime.

Draedyn Furrow pumped in two goals for the ‘Stangs and Isaac Widmer one. Camden Roy creased the net for MCI.

Mount View outshot MCI 16-11 and held a 1-0 edge in corner kicks.

Declan Knowlton made four saves in goal for the Mustangs and Cote Allen three saves in net for the Huskies.

Bucksport 8, Searsport 0

At Bucksport Sept. 17, the Vikings hung tough with the Golden Bucks through the first 20 minutes, but the hosts pulled away in the second half and claimed victory. Bucksport led 3-0 at halftime.

Evan Donnell and Jacob Brezovsky pumped in three goals for the winners, while Kai Briwn and Hugh Jack added one. Donnell also had three assists and Jason Terrill and Drew Gaudreau one.

Josh Wright made 21 saves in net for the Vikings, while Colin Simpson had seven stops in goal for the Golden Bucks.

Mount View 3, Lawrence 0

At Fairfield Sept. 16, the Mustangs galloped past the Bulldogs. Mount View led 2-0 at halftime.

Isaac Widner, Vern Smith and Draedyn Furrow netted goals for the ‘Stangs.

Declan Knowlton made 11 saves in goal for Mount View and Nate Pierce eight save in net for Lawrence.

The Bulldogs held a 13-9 edge in shots and 3-0 advantage in corner kicks.

Searsport 3, Penobscot Valley 1

At Searsport Sept. 16, the Vikings collected their second win of the campaign, this time over the Howlers.

Sam Cahill had a goal and assist in the win for Searsport, while Gage Ellis and Charlie Lewis added one goal and Charlie Lewis one assist.

Josh Wright minded the net for the Vikings.

Girls soccer

Winslow 3, Belfast 2

At Winslow Sept. 16, the opponents combined for five first-half goals — and none in the second — as the Black Raiders bested the Lions.

Natalie Hamlin scored two goals for Belfast and Anna Schortz added one assist, while Kyri Meak pumped in three goals for Winslow.

Ada Curry made two saves on five shots in net for the Lions and Isabell Fleury four saves on six shots in goal for the Black Raiders.

Belfast held a 6-0 edge in corner kicks.

George Stevens Academy 5, Searsport 0

At Blue Hill Sept. 11, the Eagles emerged victorious over the Vikings.

Clementine Bannon finished with a hat trick for GSA, while Ellie McMillen and Isla Day also scored for the hosts.

GSA held a 29-4 advantage in shots, while the foes attempted one corner kick.

Josh Bragdon made 18 saves in net for the Vikings, while Mya Schlidroth made one save in goal for the Eagles.
