WISCASSET — After a mostly uninterrupted 2021 racing schedule at Wiscasset Speedway, the weather seemingly has been determined to force stock car drivers back into the pit.

Due to the rain impact of Saturday, Sept. 25 Division 1 racing, and Sept. 18 Division 2 features, the Speedway has had to adjust its remaining schedule.

On Saturday, Oct. 2, Group 2 Championship Day with Nelcar Legends, and the Amsoil Dominator Strictly Shootout events, will begin at 2 p.m.

As all heat races from the Sept. 18 race day were able to be completed before feature races were called off because of weather, only cars that have qualified will be able to run in the first feature. The second feature is open to all drivers.

On Saturday, Oct. 9, Group 1 Championship Day with the Ward and Sons Super Street 100 Beech Ridge-Wiscasset Challenge will begin at noon in place of the scheduled Fall Fury.

Only previously-qualified cars from Sept. 18 will be permitted to run in the final points race for the Strictly Streets Division.

The 100-lap event for the Beech Ridge-Wiscasset Challenge will not run its usual Fall Fury format to allow for makeup of the Sept. 25 races.

At the wrap of racing, the season awards and cookout will be held as planned in the grandstand concourse.

Full race day schedules will be posted on the speedway’s website at wiscassetspeedeway.com.
