BELFAST — Belfast Cemetery trustees are offering a special Grove Cemetery tour for the public on Saturday, Oct. 2, beginning at 1 p.m.

The tour, postponed from Sept. 25 because of rain, will feature students in The Game Loft program, “Coming of Age in America.” An in-depth look at historical Maine life, the program uses role-play and experiential learning in small groups to explore concepts in U.S. history, Maine history and civic involvement.

Both students and adults will portray some of the more historically interesting citizens buried in Grove Cemetery. Visitors will meet Dr. John S. Osborn, Belfast’s first doctor; Joseph Wilson, Civil War soldier; and Anne Crosby Johnson, Belfast benefactress.

The cemetery is located at 21 Belmont Ave. Attendees should meet at the cemetery chapel. A donation of $10 is suggested, in support of the chapel fund.

Parking is available in the cemetery and refreshments will be served following the tour.
