LIBERTY — A woman died Sunday, Sept. 26, after what appears to have been an accident, according to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. The time of the incident and address of the victim were not released.

Marilyn Baer died Sunday, the OCME confirmed, after her car rolled backward, causing her injuries.  “At this time, it is believed Marilyn’s death was an accident,” Lindsey Chasteen of the OCME told The Republican Journal in an email.

Waldo County Chief Deputy Jason Trundy said the death occurred on a private driveway and there was no accident report. The vehicle was found to be in “drive,” he said. “It appears she simply forgot to put it in park, and the vehicle rolled backward.”

OCME said the death is considered “unattended,” because it was a traumatic, accidental death. Chasteen said Liberty Ambulance Service answered the 911 call.
