Hello Monroe!

Nolan is fitting in well (we’ll keep him!) and spends the majority of his time sleeping these early days. He does have quite alert wake windows a few times a day though, and shows off his dark blue eyes and serious expressions as he takes in the household sights, sounds and smells.

We had our 2-week-old weight check recently for Nolan, with the hope of his being back up to his birth weight of 9 pounds and 4 ounces. He tipped the scales at that appointment at 10 pounds 14 ounces! We sure do like and are thankful for big, strong, healthy babies here at Rosemoore Farm.

Worth celebrating

Congratulations to one of Monroe’s newest licensed drivers, Anthony Lepore!

When I taught at Mount View Middle School, I was lucky enough to have Anthony in my homeroom in sixth, seventh and eighth grade. Sure goes to show how fast time really does fly and how quickly children grow into young adults!

Buckle up and BE SAFE, Ant!

Fast recovery

I was happy to read that Lynda Oliver made it through her most recent knee surgery successfully and was just awaiting clearance to head home! May your recovery be smooth and quick, Lynda.

Oliver goes most Saturdays and Mondays to see “Lynda and Dan” at the town of Monroe transfer station. We all look forward to seeing you there again soon, Lynda!

Snowmobile club

The Harvest Valley Snowmobile Club, which manages and maintains snowmobile trails in the towns of Brooks and Monroe, will have its first meeting of the season on Wednesday, Oct. 20, at 7 p.m., at the home of Bruce Stubbs in Monroe. Contact Bruce at 322-6120 for more information.

The club typically meets on the second Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m., and is actively seeking new members. This is a perfect time of year to get out, get involved and be a part of helping to clear trails for the upcoming winter season.

Dog licenses

The Monroe Town Hall would like all residents who own canines to know that 2022 dog licenses will be available starting Oct. 15. Get your dog registered early to avoid having to pay a late fee later. Contact the office at 525-3515 for more information.

Have a great week!
