TROY — A man was arrested late Monday night and charged with threatening with a dangerous weapon, terrorizing and assault after Waldo County Sheriff’s deputies, in conjunction with the Maine State Police Tactical Team, executed an arrest warrant at his home.

Dillon Haight, 26, of Troy was taken into custody just before midnight Oct. 11, Waldo County Chief Deputy Jason Trundy said. Based on Haight’s prior history, Trundy said, police obtained an arrest warrant and were aided by the tactical team.

According to court records, police were called by someone picking up a friend who was in distress at Haight’s Bangor Road house. The document states Haight was intoxicated, brandished a shotgun and threatened to kill the complainant.

In addition, the report says, Haight made offensive physical contact with the complainant by forcibly trying to take her clothes off. The complainant was able to fake a phone call, stating to an imaginary person, “OK, you’re almost here?” which caused Haight to back off.

Haight was arrested and bail was set at $1,000 with conditions he not have contact with the two people involved. He is also prohibited from using or possessing dangerous weapons, alcohol or illegal drugs and must submit to random searches. He is scheduled to be arraigned Nov. 12 at 10 a.m. at the Waldo County Judicial Center.
