FRANKFORT — No one was injured when two vehicles crashed shortly after 3 p.m. Oct. 19 at the intersection of Swanville and Town Hill roads.

The collision involved a 2018 GMC truck pulling a trailer carrying an excavator, driven by Timothy Adams, 53, of Winterport, and a 2007 Toyota Four Runner driven by Raina Hummer, 37, of Searsport.

According to the Waldo County Sheriff’s Office, the truck pulling the trailer was traveling north on Swanville Road and was hit by Hummer’s SUV on Town Hill Road. Deputy Kevin Littlefield said it appeared Hummer did not stop at the stop sign before she struck the truck.

Police said neither party was injured in the crash and both refused medical treatment. The truck ended up in a ditch, while the SUV, stopped in the road, showed substantial front-end damage.

Cecil Linscott of the West Frankfort Fire Department said the intersection has been the site of previous crashes he has attended to, including 10 years ago when he remembered four incidents in a 48-hour period — three of which occurred at that same intersection.

West Frankfort and Frankfort fire departments answered the call, along with the Waldo County Sheriff’s Office and Winterport Ambulance Service.  No charges were issued, according to police.
