AUGUSTA — The Midcoast’s four high school field hockey teams from Belfast, Mount View of Thorndike, Camden Hills of Rockport and Oceanside of Rockland have completed their regular seasons and look forward to the playoffs.

The 2021 postseason will be an open tournament. Thus, all squads qualify for the playoffs regardless of record or regional standing.

The reason is teams potentially could be in a position to opt out of the regular season or postseason due to COVID-19 concerns, issues or protocols.

The final standings, points and playoff games for Midcoast squads, with dates and times listed where available, include:

In Class A North, Camden Hills (6-7-1, 61.0047 points) finished eighth, while Skowhegan (14-0, 186.7737 points) finished first in the 12-team region.

The No. 8 Windjammers will host No. 9 Hampden Academy (6-8) in a prelim playoff on Friday, Oct. 22 at 3 p.m. The Windjammers defeated the Broncos 3-1 in a regular-season game.

In Class B North, Belfast (12-2, 138.4066 points) finished third and Oceanside (3-10, 19.1208 points) 10th, while Lawrence of Fairfield (11-0, 207.4726 points) finished first in the 11-team region.

The No. 3 Lions will play the winner of the prelim playoff between No. 6 Winslow (6-7) and No. 11 Waterville (2-11-1) in a quarterfinal playoff, time and date to be determined.

The No. 10 Mariners will play at No. 7 John Bapst of Bangor (7-7) in a prelim playoff on Saturday, Oct. 23 at 11 a.m. The Mariners and Crusaders did not play one another during the regular season.

In Class C North, Mount View (7-7, 34.2817 points) finished 10th, while Maine Central Institute of Pittsfield (12-1, 170.4775 points) finished first in the 12-team region.

The No. 10 Mustangs will play at No. 7 Stearns/Schenck (8-6) in a prelim playoff on Friday, Oct. 22 at 4:15 p.m. The teams did not play one another during the regular season.
