Halloween will soon be here and Thorndike will be celebrating! There will be a trunk or treat at the Thorndike Congregational Church Sunday, Oct. 31, 5 to 7:30 p.m., bring your scariest costume. The Fire Department and Masonic Hall will also be having lots of fun for the kiddos. There will be activities at the Fire Department and a photo booth. The Fire Department will also be doing a boot drive with the proceeds going to the Thorndike Rec Department. If you would like to donate candy to this event, please drop it off at the Thorndike Town Office by Friday, Oct. 29, at noon. Help spread the word.

It is time for the Mount View Alumni Recognition nominations for 2022  to be sent in. The personal and professional accomplishments of previous Mount View graduates will encourage present-day students to reach for the stars. Nomination forms are due no later than Dec. 31. Do not forget the Hunters Breakfast that honors the memory of Austin J. Grant by donating all proceeds to worthy citizens. He would be so proud and thankful. The breakfast will be at the Snowdusters Clubhouse on Fisher Road, Unity. Bring a big appetite and some extra cash to participate in all the raffles and drawings.

Reminder:  ATV trails are only open on Sundays during hunting season.

Notice to all ATV owners: ATVs that are wider than 65″ and/or weigh more than 2,000 pounds are in a new category: oversized ATV. Some oversized ATVs may not be registered, effective Oct. 18, 2021.  Non-residents may not register an oversized ATV under any circumstances and residents can only register them under certain conditions.

Dirigo Grange in Freedom will be conducting an indoor bake sale at the Grange Hall on Saturday, Nov. 13, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Help support our local Grange.
