BELFAST — Chad Foley was sworn in last week as a new deputy in the Waldo County Sheriff’s Office.

According to a Facebook post Oct. 25 from the Sheriff’s Office, Deputy Foley is a long-time law enforcement officer with considerable service time at the Bangor Police Department and the Aroostook

County Sheriff’s Office, as well as at the Maine Bureau of Motor Vehicles as a detective.

As a member of the U.S. Army Reserves, Foley was deployed to Iraq. He is a member of the Maine Army National Guard.
