Congratulations to Logan Grant on getting her first deer and also filling both deer tags by getting two deer on the same hunt. Good going, girl!

From the Thorndike Fire Department: The department is gearing up for cold weather by stocking the brush truck with warm weather gear that will be used by victims during emergency calls to keep warm and comfortable until emergency services arrive.  Gloves, hats, mittens, small fleece blankets are examples of useful items. Donations can be dropped off at the Town Office during business hours. You can also put items in a large zipper-lock bag and label it by approximate age and for man, woman, boy or girl. Thanks in advance for your help.

Condolences are being sent to the family and friends of Russell Lord. He will be missed by the many who knew and loved him.

I recently received word of the passing of Ronald Oberg. He was a great math teacher at Uni-Free High School back in the early ’60s.

Happy belated birthday to Roy Ward. I hope you had an amazing day.

I finally made it back to the Brooks Thrift Store and made some great finds. They are open Thursdays and Saturdays from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. both days. If you have not been there yet, what is the hold-up? The volunteers are very friendly and you will enjoy the visit. Plus, you can’t beat the prices.

I hope all the veterans received the respect they so deserve and had a great Veterans Day.

Henry Ward Beecher is quoted as saying, “A man without mirth is like a wagon without springs, in which one is caused to jolt disagreeably by every pebble over which it runs.”

Have a great week and get started on those wreaths.
