BELFAST — The Belfast Lions Club, in association with Run Belfast, held its first-ever Ghostly Gallop 5K the day before Halloween to raise funds for diabetes awareness and treatment.

The race/jog/walk event started at the lower parking lot of Belfast Area High School. The rain held off and there was a good turnout of all ages for the event, with many participants in Halloween costumes.

The club thanks the Drinkwater Cross-Country team for joining the race. The event was sponsored by Hannaford Supermarket and crewed with the assistance of Belfast Lions and members of the Belfast Area High School’s Peer Leadership Program. Next year’s race will be Saturday, Oct. 29, 2022.
